About Nick

howdy.

I’m an entrepreneur who focuses on creating digital products and implementing growth strategies to get those products in the hands of the people. I’m a recent Kansas City transplant, from Chicago, by way of San Francisco for a short stint.

Most recently I was VP Marketing at Geostellar, where we were building a solar energy marketplace for web and mobile. Previously I was the co-founder of PVPower Inc., a Chicago-based startup building the simplest path to solar ownership in the US. At PVPower I led the product team in developing PVPower.com, Kiwi and SolarBear, the web platform powering America’s solar installers.

I have a never-ending interest in creating businesses to fill needs and interests of mine. My experience here continues to grow, in 2003 (with a couple others) I started digital boutique agency Pixel within Starcom MediaVest Group and in 2009 launched leading solar energy provider PVPower.com with my business partners. I started my first business at age 17, a breakfast delivery service in the Detroit area.

And there’s more to life than the professional stuff (sometimes I wish a bit more) – on that side I now live in Kansas City with my small, yet mighty dog, Willie. I love music, golf, football and technology. I’m a big fan of the Green Bay Packers, Miami University (OH), University of Michigan, the Detroit Pistons, Ben Harper, The National, A Tribe Called Quest and WOXY.com (RIP).

As for this site, it’s a place where I can share the work I’ve taken part in, a place I can experiment with new technologies, explore creative outlets and connect with others. To be VERY clear, the work I’m sharing on this site has been the effort of a large group of individuals, by no means just my own. However the thoughts I share are my own, and by no means those of my company, employer or do they reflect the thoughts of my clients or colleagues… you get the picture.

thanks much! – Nick
